The concept was nice.Unfortunatey the author did not display it very well.If someone with more experience took this book sat down and rewrote it then it would be much better.I feel like this was more of a vision or an idea that was not elaborated on.At all.

There are so many points in the story that just were not written very well.If this book were a sidewalk I would be afraid to walk on it because of how many holes there are.

The ending just was to the point that I felt like I had skipped a bunch of pages.

The lenght and elaboration was extremely poor

The concept was nice and I could see where she was trying to take her vision and the book definitely has potential.

I give it a three out of fivd

The Way Life Was Forever eBook Carey Corp Reviews

This story caught my attention from the beginning and kept me turning the pages until I finished it. I really enjoyed the style of writing. Some of the scenes had unique words that I enjoyed reading.

The Way life was forever is about a girl, named Lyra, who lives in a settlement underground. Her settlement only comes out at night because of fear of the Sun-dwellers (flesh-eating people.) When her little sister decides she wants to break away and see the sun Lyra has to run and find her before the vaults close, and the Sun-dwellers come out. Lyra finds herself in an unexpected situation where everything she believed is turned upside down.
(Possibly a spoiler here)
A couple times I thought `People wouldn't just instantly fall in love', but then I thought about the fact that these are teenagers and yes, they probably would after being holed up in their camps for so long.
Very well written little story!
The story should have been expanded more before releasing. There are two split societies, a couple romances, mysteries and a sister relationship but the author does not expand enough on any of these and the book just suddenly cuts off. The last few pages felt rushed as he jumps ahead a few years and leaves the story with an open ended question that is not quite a cliff hanger, in the sense that the reader isn't going to bite their nails wondering what's coming next. If there is a sequel, the last chapter should have had more time spent expanding on certain elements rather than the rush job it was. There is potential (which is why I gave three stars rather than one or two) because I really did hope for more. The writing and storytelling are all right there, the author just needed to develop it a bit more and end it solidly.
To best put it, you cannot easily find fresh ideas in Science Fiction in this day and age. When I was looking for free books for my Library in my laptop, I was hesitant. The synopsis peaked my interest, and so I hit the buy button (even though it's free). I was impressed by the plot line. What drove humanity underground and split the land between day and night? What caused all the rumors about the way each half was? These questions go unanswered, but the plot speaks for itself. The twist of finding a hamlet of people who escaped both the day and night underground vault-complexes, and answering some family mysteries between the main female and male leads, was the perfect idea. The ending is fitting too, but I'm not one for giving too many "spoilers..."

The shticks (running gags), that lay in the story, are typical of "Far-Future Dystopia" Science Fiction, but do not feel like that at all. Teenage Leads do keep it fresh and timeless, and the entailment of teenage romance, and rebelling against the status-quo by leaving their homes without a trace, does harken to other works, but I wouldn't be quick to pass this over. The writing level is superb, and the settings for each scene of the story are just exact to fit the tones of the plot and writing. This short story is exactly what I like in Science Fiction Short Story; unique, thrilling, well-written, and some undefinable quality that makes a story go from "Okay to "WOW! THIS IS GREAT!!!" I honestly hope this author is a budding Douglas Adams, or Ray Bradbury, as I'd honestly would like to see this as a graphic novella, or even a movie, as well as more stories related to this. My highest complements to Carey Corp.

Overall, I rate this short-story as Five Stars, as I feel this is one that everybody should read. If you want a great free story, this is one for the Teen Reader, the Sci-Fi Fan, the Short Story Lover, and anybody that goes "Head-Over-Heals" for fine, fantastic, brilliant stories. Get this story as soon as possible!
Sadly I am giving this book two stars. Usually all of the books I read turn out to be good. It's not that it wasn't good it's just I want more of something that isn't there. The story was predictable to me. I mean she meets a guy who she is suppose to be scared of who turns out not to be that bad. And he's suppose to be scared of her but actually starts to like her. Then they have a child it was just to predictable like she wanted me to know the whole story. I just expected to feel something it was like everything was moving so fast that in the book or seemed like she had just like and married the guy because he was cute. My advise to Carey Corp is next time you might want to put a little more detail in your next book. Now I have been a little harsh so I bet you think I didn't like the book. But the truth is I kinda liked it to. Yeah I bet it's funny huh. But at the same time during the book I recognized the theme of the book. Well I don't know if I got it right bit to me it came out as two different worlds with different views , with two different people . They learn that they aren't as scary to each other as they are said to be and eventually they learn to love each other and live happily ever after. to So I guess the book was alright but I guess I expected more and just never got it I was disappointed I really expected more out of her work. I still think you should give this book a chance just because I didn't like doesn't mean another reader might not like it . So go on ahead and try it you never know you might want more of what you can't get or your thirst might be quenched.
